Kim Kardashian’s Workout Routine Is Actually Surprisingly Easy To Follow

Girl knows her way around a weight room.

Whether you're keeping up with Kim Kardashian on her reality TV show or social media channels, one thing is clear: The mom of four and entrepreneur is seriously dedicated to her fitness.

So, what does a Kim Kardashian workout routine look like? After talking to her trainer and scrolling through her Instagram accounts, we at team WH have a pretty good idea. For one thing, Kim wakes up crazy early, as in before the sun, to work out. She never skips her sweat sessions, and she prefers weight lifting to any other type of workout.

But while Kim has been leaning into her exercise routine hard for years now, she just shared she’s found a great new addition that works for her: treadmill sprints. "Been sprinting every day!" she recently wrote on her Instagram Story, with a video of herself running fast on the treadmill. She also added this: "I've been seeing changes!"

Kim shared a second video of herself sprinting, which only lasted for a few seconds. The reason? "Hard to video and sprint 😂," she wrote. (I mean, fair!)

In a word, her training plan is: impressive. Something else it happens to be? Refreshingly easy to recreate. But don't take my word for it. Below, you'll find all the intel on how Kim stays fit—straight from her and her trainer.

1 Kim works out with an amazing trainer.

Her name is Melissa Alcantara, a.k.a. @fitgurlmel. Not only does she help Kim maintain her famously fit physique, but Alcantara is incredibly inspiring in her own right and frequently shares her personal transformation stories on her feed. Better still, you can train with her too through her workout programs on the Fitplan app.

2 The two of them squeeze in sessions at 6 a.m.

Kim is very much team morning workout. But her crack-of-dawn training sessions are powered more by necessity than anything: "Her schedule is crazy, and mine is also crazy, so we work out really early in the morning at 6 a.m.," says Alcantara.

3 She's really into resistance training.

While her big sis Kourtney Kardashian focuses on cardio with every workout to stay in shape, Kim dials in on the resistance training. Alcantara told us that "85 percent of our training is weight training, and the other 15 is made up of cardio."

4 She's also seriously dedicated to her core training.

While some people are content to tack on a few abs exercises to the end of their total-body workouts, Kim prefers to devote entire training sessions to just her abs. Here's one of her go-to workouts for a sculpted midsection.

5 Kim's leg days are next-level.

It will come as not surprise to anyone keeping up with Kim Kardashian that she'd dedicated to sculpting her legs and glutes. What might shock you though is how she does this. When it comes to lower body exercises, Kim lifts heavy and focuses on her form, taking her muscles through a full range of motion. Here's an instagram story she shared of herself showing off some serious skills while performing a deep squat with barbell on her back.

6 Kim krushes workouts six days per week.

Consistency is what really counts when it comes to getting (and staying) in shape. Alcantara told us that she and Kim train almost every day and that her sweat sessions are between 60 to 90 minutes long.

7 Kim never cancels a workout.

Her winning streak when it comes to working out doesn't just impress us, it makes her an MVP amongst her trainer's clients. "She’s super responsible, she never cancels—she’s the best client and athlete you can have," Alcantara previously told WH. "It’s just her drive. She's like, ‘I have to work out, this is part of my life.' It’s all about the mindset."

8 She does two-a-days.

Kim shared in January 2021 that she was doing a "Sister Boot Camp" along with Khloe Kardashian to get healthy after the holidays. Kim wrote in her Instagram Story at the time that she and Khloe planned to exercise even more than usual and eat only plant-based foods."Plant based and two workouts a day for 30 days to get our mind and body right this year!" she said.

9 Kim does treadmill sprints.

In an April 2021 Instagram Story, Kim shared that she recently discovered the power of treadmill sprints.

ICYDK, sprinting increases your lean muscle mass and burns more calories than jogging at a steady pace, because you’re running harder at a higher intensity. So, there’s that!

"Been sprinting every day!" Kim wrote on her Instagram Story, over video of herself sprinting on a treadmill. "I've been seeing changes!" she added. The reality star shared another short clip of herself running. While it was super short, she pointed out that it’s "hard to video and sprint 😂."
